Mexican Frozen Hot Chocolate Pie

Ingredients

  • 1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/4 cup milk (at room temperature)
  • 1 (11 1/2 ounce) package milk chocolate chips
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 (6 ounce) package oreo cookie pie crusts

Recipe

  • 1 place beaters and mixing bowl in freezer. (this is for the heavy cream.).
  • 2 melt chocolate chips in double boiler or microwave. (two minutes at 50% power usually works.) cool.
  • 3 in separate bowl, whisk together sweetened condensed milk and milk.
  • 4 whisk in melted chocolate.
  • 5 stir in vanilla, cinnamon and cayenne pepper.
  • 6 take bowl and beaters from freezer. beat heavy cream until stiff peaks form.
  • 7 fold in chocolate mixture.
  • 8 transfer 3 cups mixture to freezer-proof bowl. cover.
  • 9 pour remaining mixture into crust.
  • 10 freeze bowl and pie 2 hours.
  • 11 top pie with mixture in bowl.
  • 12 freeze overnight.
  • 13 top with whipped cream and chocolate shavings, if desired.
  • 14 the preparation time does not include the first 2 hours in the freezer.
