Peanut Butter Criscrosses

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1 cup peanut butter
  • 3/4 cup butter (softened)
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 3 cups oats, uncooked (quick or old-fashioned)
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar

Recipe

  • 1 heat oven to 350 degrees. beat sugar, peanut butter and butter until creamy.
  • 2 add water, egg and vanilla; beat well.
  • 3 add combined oats, flour and baking soda; mix well. cover; chill about 2 hours.
  • 4 shape dough into 1 inch balls. place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets. flatten with tines of fork, dipped in sugar to form crisscross pattern.
  • 5 bake 9-10 minutes or until edges are golden brown.
  • 6 cool 2 minutes on cookie sheets; remove to wire rack. cool completely. store tightly covered.
