  • 4 medium russet potatoes, peeled

  • 2 heat oven to 425°. mix bisquick, milk, cherries, 6 tablespoons sugar and the margarine until soft dough forms. turn dough on surface lightly dusted with bisquick; gently roll in bisquick to coat. shape dough into ball; knead 8 to 10 times.
  • 3 roll dough 1/2-inch thick. cut with floured 3-inch star-shaped cutter. place about 1 inch apart on ungreased cookie sheet. bake 10 to 12 minutes or until golden brown.

  • 1 (9 inch) deep dish pie shells
  • 4 cups berries (thawed if frozen)

  • 2 1/4 cups milk
  • 1/3 cup shortening, butter flavored
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 4 cups flour
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons yeast (1 packet)
  • 1 pinch sugar
  • 1/2 cup warm water (not hot)
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 3/4 cup butter, melted

Recipe

  • 1 heat milk and shortening in large bowl in microwave until shortening melts.
  • 2 meanwhile, dissolve yeast and pinch of sugar into warm water.
  • 3 in a smaller bowl, whisk the salt, soda, sugar and first portion of flour.
  • 4 stir in half the flour mixture into the milk mixture. stir in the yeast mixture, then stir in the remaining flour.
  • 5 let rise 1 1/2 hour in a warm place covered with a damp dish towel.

  • 1 pint vanilla ice cream
  • 1/2 cup corn flakes or 1/2 cup cookie crumbs, crushed
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 1 egg
  • oil (for deep frying)
  • honey
  • whipped cream

Recipe

  • 1 scoop out 4 or 5 balls of ice cream. return to freezer.
  • 2 mix crumbs, cinnamon and sugar.
  • 3 roll frozen ice cream balls in half the crumb mixture and freeze again.
  • 4 beat egg and dip coated balls in egg, then roll again in remaining crumbs.
  • 5 freeze until ready to use (for thicker coating repeat dipping in egg and rolling in crumbs).
  • 6 when ready to serve, heat oil to 350 degrees.
  • 7 place a frozen ice cream ball in fryer basket or on a perforated spoon and lower into hot oil 1 minute.
  • 8 immediately remove and place on dessert compote.
  • 9 drizzle with honey and top with a dab of whipped cream.

  • 11 balls will be crunchy on the outside and just beginning to melt on the inside.

  • 1 preheat oven to 475f degrees.
  • 2 cover 2 baking sheets with foil.
  • 3 beat egg whites until foamy.
  • 4 add salt and cream of tartar.
  • 5 mix the orange gelatin and sugar together, then add the mixture to the egg whites gradually, a tablespoon at a time, while beating.
  • 6 beat to stiff peaks.
  • 7 carefully fold in the chocolate chips and nuts, if desired.
  • 8 drop batter by teaspoonfuls onto the prepared baking sheets.
  • 9 place the baking sheets into the hot oven quickly, then close the oven door, and turn the oven off.

  • 1 pinch black pepper

  • 1 cup parmesan cheese, finely grated
  • 4 tablespoons sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon heavy cream

Recipe

  • 1 combine the flour, salt, pepper and rosemary in a food processor. add the butter and pulse until the mixture resembles a course meal. add the parmesan and pulse to mix. add 1 tablespoon of the sour cream at a time, pulsing each time. add the heavy cream and pulse until the dough comes together. do not over pulse, or the dough will get tough.
  • 2 place the dough on a lightly floured surface, and shape into a 2-inch round log. wrap w/ plastic and refrigerate at least 24 hours.
  • 3 preheat oven to 325°f slice the log into 1/4 inch disks. place on parchment paper lined cookie sheet. bake until the crackers are golden brown and firm in the center, about 23-35 minutes.

  • 6 tablespoons butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • icing (for writing)
  • oil (to grease pans)

Recipe

  • 1 before you start, grease two cookie sheets with cooking oil.
  • 2 put the butter into a bowl and stir until it is creamy. sift the powdered sugar in and stir until the mixture is smooth.
  • 3 sift the flour into the bowl and stir it in with a wooden spoon. then, using your hands, squeeze the mixture to make a dough.
  • 4 flatten the dough a little before you wrap it. wrap the dough in plastic food wrap and put it in the refrigerator for 30 minutes. while the dough chills, preheat your oven to 350°f.
  • 5 dust a rolling pin and a clean work surface with a little flour. don't use too much or the dough will get tough. roll out the dough until it is about 1/4 inch thickness.
  • 6 cut out lots of circles with the cookie cutter, then, squeeze the scraps into a ball. roll the ball out again, then cut out more circles.
  • 7 place the circles onto the greased cookie sheets, about 6 on each. bake the cookies for about 10-12 minutes.
  • 8 remove the cookies from the oven and leave them on the sheets for about 2 minutes. then, move them onto a wire rack using a spatula. let them cool completely before you ice them.
  • 9 to begin the snowflake design, draw a line down the center of one cookie with the writing icing. draw two more lines crossing over the first one, so it sorta looks like an x with a line in the middle.
  • 10 make the snowflake by adding small likes of writing icing across the ends of the lines. try making them all a little different, since there are no snowflakes that are exactly alike.

  • 3 to make the topping: mix 100g margarine and 50g flour with 2-3 tsp of water until you have a thick enough dough to spray. put into a freezer or zipplock bag.
  • 4 roll out the cookie dough 1-2 cm thick. cut out circles or snowflake shapes and place on backing paper covered cookie sheet.
  • 5 cut a little tip off one of the bottom corners of the freezer bag and spray/dot snowflake designs on the cookies.

  • 1 set oven to 400 degrees.

  • 1 cap strawberries, cut into bite-size pieces and place them in small mixing bowl.
  • 2 sprinkle sugar over berries and stir. use spoon to crush berries slightly so they will release juice. set aside.
  • 3 place cookies in zipper-top plastic bag and use rolling pin to crush them finely. set aside.
  • 4 in small bowl or 2-cup measure, stir together 1/2 c of whipped topping and yogurt until well blended. set aside.
  • 5 divide cookie crumbs evenly in bottom of 4 parfait glasses or other dessert dishes (that hold at least 1 cup).

Peanut Butter Graham Cookie Spread

  • 2/3 cup evaporated milk
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted creamy peanut butter

Recipe

  • 1 combine milk, sugar and butter in a heavy saucepan.
  • 2 cook slowly over medium heat (keep the heat under the pan) until temperature reaches 220°.
  • 3 remove from heat.
  • 4 stir in peanut butter and marshmallow.
  • 5 pour onto baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • 6 cool to room temperature.
  • 7 using a butter knife, sandwich spread between crackers.

  • 2 slice bananas, hull and slice strawberries.

Recipe

  • 1 in one quart sauce pot bring water to rolling boil. add butter and salt. fold in grits and reduce heat to simmer. cook until grits are tender stirring occasionally. (can also use quick cooking grits but change water accordingly).
  • 2 when cooked remove from heat and stir in sausage, cheese, and pepper. pour hot grits into sheet pan with 1 inch lip. smooth out to 3/4" thickness. cool overnight in refrigerator.
  • 3 the next morning use a 3" round cookie cutter to cut circles (about 8 patties).
  • 4 heat oil in large skillet over medium high heat.
  • 5 prepare egg wash: beat egg and milk together.
  • 6 dip patties into egg wash then flour then egg wash then bread crumbs.

Fresh Strawberry Pie

  • 1 1/2 cups finely crushed vanilla wafers (about 42)

  • 2/3 cup sugar

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 350.
  • 2 combine cookie crumbs, sugar, 1/2 tsp vanilla and butter and press into a 9-inch pie dish.
  • 3 bake 10 minutes or until set and barely beginning to brown. let cool.
  • 4 slice 2 cups strawberries.
  • 5 combine strawberries with 2 tablespoons water in a saucepan and bring to a boil while mashing strawberries, cook 2 minutes.
  • 6 push strawberries through a sieve with a spoon and discard any solids that remain.
  • 7 measure juice and add water to equal 1 cup.
  • 8 combine sugar and cornstarch in a saucepan. gradually whisk in strawberry juice and lemon juice. cook over med. heat until thickened. boil 1 minute remove from heat and stir in remaining vanilla.
  • 9 place 1/3 of remaining berries in pie shell; drizzle with 1/3 of glaze.
  • 10 repeat twice.
  • 11 chill 2 hours or until set.
  • 12 serve cold with whipped cream, if using.

Recipe

  • 1 cream butter until consistency of whipped cream. gradually work in sifted dry ingredients including nuts. add vanilla and water (using more water if necessary) and mix to combine. shape dough into crescents. (dough may be easier to handle if it is chilled 15-20 minutes before shaping.) place crescents on cooky sheets, spacing them 2 inches apart, and chill thoroughly. this step prevents the cookies from spreading too much.
  • 2 before removing from refrigerator, preheat oven to 400 degrees f. it is important for the oven to reach this temperature before putting in the cookies, again to prevent excessive spreading. bake cookies until delicately browned at the edges, about 8-10 minutes. watch carefully. while still hot, roll cookies in additional powdered sugar.
  • 3 note: because the crescents are so very fragile, we lost a number of them to breakage. (those were ours!) we began forming the dough into balls which were far less fragile so we didn't have to make as many batches.

Peanut Butter Fudge Rolls

  • 1 for dough, cut butter into flour until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

  • 3 in a medium sauce pan over low heat, melt peanut butter chips, stirring continually. stir in peanut butter.
  • 4 remove from heat, stir in sugar.
  • 5 halve dough. on a surface sprinkled lightly with additional powdered sugar, roll each dough half into a 12x9-inch rectangle.
  • 6 spread half of the filling on each rectangle.
  • 7 roll dough up from the long side.
  • 8 wrap and chill dough for one to two hours, or until firm.
  • 9 to bake, preheat oven to 350°f cut dough into 1/2-inch slices. place on an ungreased cookie sheet bake for 25 minutes, or until edges are slightly brown. remove and cool completely on wire racks.
  • 10 for glaze, cook and stir chocolate pieces and shortening in a small sauce pan over low heat. drizzle chocolate over cooled cookies.

Healthy Honey Oatmeal Cookies

  • 2 arrange potatoes, cut side down, in a single layer on a cookie sheet.
  • 3 place pan on lowest rack of cold oven then heat oven to 450°f.
  • 4 roast until cut side is golden brown and potatoes are tender, 20 to 25 minutes.
  • 5 place potatoes in a large bowl and add olives, onion and parsley.

  • 1/4 cup light corn syrup
  • 1 lb semisweet chocolate, chopped in pieces
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon paraffin wax

Recipe

  • 1 in a large mixing bowl, combine the butter and peanut butter.
  • 2 stir in the sugar, then the corn syrup.
  • 3 roll the peanut butter mixture into bite size balls.
  • 4 place in refrigerator for at least 3-4 hours.
  • 5 after the refrigeration period, in a double broiler, melt the semi-sweet chocolate, vegetable oil and paraffin, constantly stirring until the chocolate is smooth and creamy.
  • 6 remove the pan from heat and let the mixture cool to 90 degrees f on candy thermometer.
  • 7 dip peanut butter balls in the chocolate and place on a lined cookie sheet.
  • 8 chocolate mixture should be approximately 90 degrees f during the entire dipping process (if the mixture thickens before you finish dipping, return the pan to heat and bring back to 90 degrees f).
  • 9 refrigerate finished product in an airtight container.

  • 1 cream butter and sugar until fluffy.
  • 2 separately, beat egg yolks and add extracts.
  • 3 add beaten egg yolk mixture to creamed butter and sugar.
  • 4 blend well.
  • 5 in a separate bowl, whisk together dry ingredients (flour, baking soda and cream of tartar).
  • 6 add dry ingredients to creamed butter, sugar and egg mixture, mixing until well blended.
  • 7 form into balls about the size of a walnut.
  • 8 roll balls in sugar, place on greased cookie sheet or parchment lined cookie sheet, and slightly flatten.
  • 9 bake at 350 degrees f for 8 to 10 minutes, depending on desired softness/crispness.

Red, 'n' Blue Cookies

  • 1 cup butter, sweet,softened
  • 3 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 cups flour
  • 36 small blueberries
  • 36 small strawberries, ripe,hulled halved

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 350 f.
  • 2 in a mixing bowl, beat the butter with the cream cheese until well blended.
  • 3 beat in the sugar and vanilla, then stir in the flour until well mixed.
  • 4 using a 1/2 tablespoon measure, shape the mixture into small balls and place 2" apart on ungreased cookie sheets.
  • 5 make a small dent in the top of each cookie and carefully place a blueberry and a strawberry half, cut side down, in each indentation.
  • 6 bake cookies for 12 to 18 mins or until very lightly browned.
  • 7 cool on racks.
