Granola

Total Time: 1 hr 10 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 1 hr

Ingredients

  • 1 cup barley
  • 1 cup spelt, flakes
  • 1 cup old fashioned oats
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 tablespoon safflower oil
  • 1 cup almonds, sliced

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 325-degrees f.
  • 2 in a bowl mix together first three ingredients (flakes - oats).
  • 3 spread mixture onto a rimmed cookie sheet. bake 30-40 minutes, turning every 10 minutes or so and mixture is golden brown.
  • 4 transfer mixture to bowl and add remaining ingredients, tossing to coat.
  • 5 return mixture to cookie sheet, spreading in an even layer.
  • 6 bake for 20 minutes, stirring after 10 minutes, and mixture is golden brown.
  • 7 let cool.
  • 8 granola can be stored in a covered container for up to 3 weeks.
