Granny's Sugar Cookies

Ingredients

• 1/2 cup butter
• 1 cup sugar
• 1 large egg
• 2 -2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
• 2 teaspoons baking powder
• 1/2 teaspoon salt
• 1/2 teaspoon vanilla

Recipe

• 1 divide dough in two parts.
• 2 chill 1 to 2 hours for easy handling.
• 3 roll dough, one part at a time, (keep 2nd cold till ready to roll) to 1/8-inch thickness and cut with cookie cutters.
• 4 transfer to cookie sheet.
• 5 preheat oven to 375°f.
• 6 bake for 8-10 minutes.
• 7 frost if desired.
