Gingersnaps

Total Time: 32 mins Preparation Time: 20 mins Cook Time: 12 mins

Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 3/4 teaspoons ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 3/4 cup butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup molasses
  • 1 egg

Recipe

  • 1 combine dry ingredients.
  • 2 cream butter and sugar.
  • 3 beat in molasses and egg.
  • 4 beat in flour mixture.
  • 5 wrap dough in plastic wrap and chill (a few hours or overnight) shape chilled dough into 1 inch balls.
  • 6 bake on parchment paper lined cookie sheets at 375 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes.
  • 7 the cookies will spread and the tops will be crackled and soft looking when done.
  • 8 cool on a wire rack.
