Snowy Chocolate Scones

Total Time: 32 mins Preparation Time: 20 mins Cook Time: 12 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 1/3 cup butter
  • 1 3/4 cups flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
  • 3/4 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup sliced almonds
  • 1 egg , beaten

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  • 2 sift flour, sugar, baking powder and salt into a large bowl.
  • 3 combine beaten egg, heavy cream and almond extract and refrigerate.
  • 4 cut butter into flour the flour mixture until mixture resembles fine crumbs. add chocolate chips and almonds.
  • 5 stir in heavy cream mixture. add stir to combine. (i used my hands to form one big ball with the dough).
  • 6 form 6 balls and set on a cookie sheet lined with parchemin paper.
  • 7 brush scones with egg .
  • 8 bake for 12 minutes or until golden brown.
  • 9 immediately remove from the cookie sheet and cool on a cooling rack.
