Pizzelles

Total Time: 1 hr Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 45 mins

Ingredients

  • 3 eggs
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon anise extract (optional)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 3/4 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Recipe

  • 1 beat eggs and sugar together.
  • 2 add melted butter (room temp), and vanilla and anise if using.
  • 3 sift dry ingredients into mixture and mix well.
  • 4 drop by tablespoon full into a preheated pizzelle iron. cook time and amount used per cookie will vary depending on iron, approximately 1.5 minutes.
  • 5 remove when just golden, cookie will crisp and continue to cook when removed.
