My Mother's Glazed Nuts

Ingredients
- Servings: 10
- 2 egg whites
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar (optional)
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 4 cups nuts
- 1/2 cup melted butter
Recipe
- 1 preheat oven to 325 degrees.
- 2 beat egg whites.
- 3 add powdered sugar (and optional brown sugar) and beat the egg mixture until stiff.
- 4 add vanilla extract.
- 5 fold in nuts to coat with the glaze.
- 6 spread melted butter on a cookie sheet.
- 7 sprinkle nuts on buttered cookie sheet and spread them out.
- 8 put nuts in oven and stir every 10 minutes (to avoid burning) until they are crispy and a light cream color.
- 9 sprinkle lightly with salt to taste.
- 10 allow to cool.
