Snickerdoodles

Total Time: 1 hr 30 mins Preparation Time: 1 hr 20 mins Cook Time: 10 mins

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/4 cups flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

Recipe

  • 1 in a large mixing bowl, cream together butter and 3/4 cup sugar.
  • 2 add egg and beat well.
  • 3 in a separate bowl, sift together the flour, salt, baking soda, and cream of tartar.
  • 4 add the sifted dry ingredients to the butter mixture.
  • 5 cover and refrigerate for one hour.
  • 6 preheat oven to 400°f.
  • 7 on a small plate, mix together 1 tablespoon sugar and 1 tablespoon cinnamon.
  • 8 roll dough into balls about the size of a walnut.
  • 9 roll each ball in the cinnamon sugar.
  • 10 place on ungreased cookie sheet, leaving room between each ball.
  • 11 bake 10 minutes or until edges are light brown.
