Snickerdoodles

Ingredients

• 1/2 cup shortening (part butter or shortening)
• 3/4 cup sugar
• 1 egg
• 1 1/2 cups flour
• 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
• 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
• 1 pinch salt
• 1 tablespoon sugar (used for cinnamon sugar mixture)
• 1 teaspoon cinnamon

Recipe

• 1 heat oven to 400 degrees.
• 2 mix shortening, sugar, and egg thoroughly.
• 3 blend flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt.
• 4 stir into wet mixture.
• 5 shape dough into 1 inch balls.
• 6 mix 1 tbsp sugar, and cinnamon in a small bowl.
• 7 roll dough balls into sugar cinnamon mixture.
• 8 place 2'' apart on ungreased cookie sheet.
• 9 bake 8 to 10 minutes.
