Snickerdoodles

Ingredients

  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 stick shortening
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 3/4 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoons cream of tartar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon

Recipe

  • 1 heat oven to 400 degrees.
  • 2 combine 1 1/2 cups of sugar, shortening, eggs, milk, and vanilla in a large
  • 3 bowl. beat at medium speed until well blended.
  • 4 combine flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl. add gradually to shortening mixture at low speed. mix until just blended.
  • 5 combine remaining sugar and cinnamon in a bowl. shape dough into 1-inch balls. roll in sugar mixture. place 2-inches apart on an ungreased baking sheet.
  • 6 bake 7-8 minutes, dip again in sugar mixture until well coated. let cool for 2 minutes before serving.
