Lemon Kiss Cookies

Total Time: 43 mins Preparation Time: 35 mins Cook Time: 8 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups butter or 1 1/2 cups margarine, softened
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon extract
  • 2 3/4 cups flour
  • 1 1/2 cups finely chopped almonds
  • 1 (14 ounce) bag hershey chocolate kisses
  • powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 tablespoon shortening

Recipe

  • 1 in large bowl, beat butter, sugar and lemon extract until fluffy. add flour and almonds; beat at low speed until blended. cover; refrigerate 1 hour.
  • 2 shape tablespoonful dough around each candy kiss, covering completely. roll in hands to form ball.
  • 3 bake at 375f on ungreased cookie sheets for 8-12 minutes.
  • 4 melt chocolate chips and shortening together over low heat; drizzle over cookies.
