Orange Cookies

Ingredients

• 1 1/2 cups sugar
• 1 cup crisco
• 2 eggs
• 1 dash salt
• 3 teaspoons baking powder
• 5 cups flour
• 1/2 cup milk
• 1 cup orange juice
• 1 teaspoon baking soda
• 1 teaspoon vanilla
• orange frosting
• 1 1/2 cups confectioners' sugar
• 1/4 cup orange juice

Recipe

• 1 mix the ingredients in the order given, beating with a wooden spoon after each item. drop by spoons fulls on an ungreased cookie sheet and bake in a moderate 350 degree oven for 8 - 10 minutes, being careful not to overbake. when cool, frost with orange confectioner sugar frosting. start with 1 1/2 cups of confectioners sugar with 1/4 cup orange juice, it mixes better in a saucepan over very low heat, stirring constantly till you get it the right consistency.
