Mariane's Gingersnaps

Total Time: 27 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 12 mins

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup margarine
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup corn syrup (karo)
  • 1/4 cup molasses
  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon ginger

Recipe

  • 1 cream butter and sugar.
  • 2 add egg, syrup and molasses.
  • 3 mix in sifted dry ingredients.
  • 4 cool dough overnight or at least 4 hours.
  • 5 (if you are in a hurry i have put the dough in freezer for 1/2 hour or so.) roll small balls (small tbls) and roll in sugar.
  • 6 place on greased cookie sheet.
  • 7 bake 350 degrees 10-12 minutes.
  • 8 don't overbake.
  • 9 note from mariane: i sometimes even use almost 1/3 c each of the syrup and molasses.
  • 10 makes them chewier.
