Pumpkin Macadamia Bars

Total Time: 30 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 20 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 18
  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup butter or 1 cup margarine, softened
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 cup solid pack pumpkin
  • 1 egg
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 2 cups chocolate chips
  • 2/3 cup chopped macadamia nuts

Recipe

  • 1 combine flour, spices and baking soda in small bowl.
  • 2 beat butter and sugars in large bowl until creamy.
  • 3 beat in pumpkin, egg and vanilla into the butter and sugar mixture until blended; gradually beat in flour mixture.
  • 4 stir in 1 1/2 cups of the chips and the nuts.
  • 5 spread into a greased 15 1/2x10 1/2 jelly roll pan.
  • 6 bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 18-20 minutes until toothpick comes out clean.
  • 7 cool in pan on wire rack.
  • 8 while bars are cooling, place remaining chips in heavy duty plastic bag.
  • 9 microwave on high for 45 seconds; knead.
  • 10 microwave at 10 second intervals, kneading until smooth.
  • 11 cut tiny corner from bag; squeeze to drizzle over the bars.
