Pumpkin Macadamia Bars

Ingredients

- 2 cups flour
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 cup butter or 1 cup margarine, softened
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1 cup solid pack pumpkin
- 1 egg
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 2 cups chocolate chips
- 2/3 cup chopped macadamia nuts
Recipe
- 1 combine flour, spices and baking soda in small bowl.
- 2 beat butter and sugars in large bowl until creamy.
- 3 beat in pumpkin, egg and vanilla into the butter and sugar mixture until blended; gradually beat in flour mixture.
- 4 stir in 1 1/2 cups of the chips and the nuts.
- 5 spread into a greased 15 1/2x10 1/2 jelly roll pan.
- 6 bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 18-20 minutes until toothpick comes out clean.
- 7 cool in pan on wire rack.
- 8 while bars are cooling, place remaining chips in heavy duty plastic bag.
- 9 microwave on high for 45 seconds; knead.
- 10 microwave at 10 second intervals, kneading until smooth.
- 11 cut tiny corner from bag; squeeze to drizzle over the bars.
