Lavender Shortbread Cookies

Total Time: 2 hrs 30 mins Preparation Time: 2 hrs Cook Time: 30 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon lemon extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour, sifted
  • 1 tablespoon dried lavender flowers
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt

Recipe

  • 1 cream butter, sugar, vanilla, and lemon extract.
  • 2 add flour, lavender flowers, and salt. (if dough is sticky, add additional 1/4 cup of flour-- dough should be soft and not sticky.).
  • 3 chill 1-2 hours.
  • 4 preheat oven to 325 degrees.
  • 5 on a lightly floured surface, roll out dough about 1/4 inch thick.
  • 6 cut out shapes with cookie cutters and place on ungreased cookie sheet).
  • 7 bake 10-15 minutes or until cookies are lightly browned around the edges.
