Ginger Cream Cookies

Ingredients
- 1/3 cup shortening
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup molasses
- 1/2 cup water
- 2 cups self-rising flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Recipe
- 1 cream the shortening, sugar, egg, molasses and water.
- 2 mix in the flour, salt, ginger, nutmeg, cloves and cinnamon.
- 3 cover and chill for 1 hour.
- 4 preheat oven to 400 degrees f (205 degrees c).
- 5 drop teaspoonfuls of dough onto ungreased cookie sheets about 2 inches apart.
- 6 bake for about 8 minutes.
