Greek Butter Cookies

Total Time: 20 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 10 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 48
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup confectioners' sugar, for dusting

Recipe

  • 1 preheat the oven to 400 degrees fahrenheit.
  • 2 grease cookie sheets.
  • 3 in a medium bowl, cream together the butter, sugar and egg until smooth.
  • 4 stir in the vanilla and almond extracts.
  • 5 blend in the flour to form a dough. you may have to knead it by hand at the end.
  • 6 take about a teaspoon of dough at a time and roll it into balls, logs or s shapes.
  • 7 place cookies 1 to 2 inches apart onto the prepared cookie sheets.
  • 8 bake for 10 minutes in the preheated oven, or until lightly browned and firm.
  • 9 allow cookies to cool completely.
  • 10 dust with confectioners' sugar.
