Smith College Cookies (chewy Chocolate Cookies)

Ingredients

• 12 ounces semisweet chocolate chips
• 1/2 cup butter
• 1 (16 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
• 1 teaspoon vanilla
• 1 cup flour
• 1/2 cup pecans, finely chopped

Recipe

• 1 melt choc. and butter in double boiler. add condensed milk and vanilla. measure flour into large mixing bowl, gradually pour in the hot chocolate mixture while beaters are running.
• 2 add pecans and stir well. allow to sit for 10 minutes.
• 3 drop by teaspoons onto cookie sheet that has been well greased.
• 4 bake at 350 deg. for 9 minutes, no longer.
• 5 cookies will look soft and shiny. leave on cookie sheet for about 2 minutes and then carefully remove them. 60 cookies.
