Homemade Granola

Total Time: 20 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 10 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 -3 tablespoon light no-salt butter (or olive oil)
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/4-1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 7 -8 cups oats, quick cook kind
  • raisins or dried cherries or dried cranberries, etc

Recipe

  • 1 melt butter, brown sugar and water together in a pan over medium heat.
  • 2 stir well, and simmer for 2-3 minutes.
  • 3 in a bowl, mix together cinnamon and oats and add to the brown sugar mix.
  • 4 remove from the heat and stir until all oats are well coated.
  • 5 place granola on a cookie sheet (with edges), and bake for 5 minutes at 375. remove from the oven, and stir/flip granola and bake for another 5 minutes until granola is lightly browned.
  • 6 allow granola to cool on the cookie sheet.
  • 7 transfer to an airtight container when cool.
