Melt In Your Mouth Meltaways - Butter Meltaway Cookies!

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup confectioners' sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 1/3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
- additional sugar
Recipe
- 1 in a mixing bowl, cream butter, oil and sugars; add egg and vanilla and mix.
- 2 combine flour, baking soda and cream of tartar in a separate bowl; gradually add to the creamed mixture.
- 3 chill for several hours or overnight (i've made these and have only chilled them for 2 hours and they turned out fine, however when i've chilled them for several hours they were perfection!).
- 4 drop by rounded teaspoonfuls 2-inches apart onto ungreased baking sheets.
- 5 flatten with a fork dipped in flour; sprinkle with sugar.
- 6 bake at 350° for 12-15 minutes or until lightly browned.
- 7 cool on wire racks.
